Services We Offer:
We are an Intercountry adoption agency since 1983. BJCW Inc. assists in the adoption of children who have legal orphan status and reside in orphanages and government foster care around the world. Families must reside in Southern California.
Orientation Meeting: Bal Jagat- Children’s World Inc. provides personalized orientation meetings to devote our full attention to one family at a time. You can feel comfortable on Skype to discuss your journey to become parents, and ask us anything you like. We will share our history, overview the Hague convention, explain about our own country programs (if interested), or showcase our partner agencies' country programs. We explain the USCIS and foreign country process, discuss documentation and pre screen clients to determine their eligibility. When YOU decide that you would like us to start, we assist you.
If there is a child waiting for you, we can even expedite the process.
Homestudy Services: Bal Jagat -Children’s World Inc. is a California State licensed, fully Hague Accredited non profit adoption agency who will provide home study services in the following counties of Southern California: Kern, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, San Diego, and Ventura.
Home studies are prepared according to the guidelines of the foreign country, the Hague Immigration Department (USCIS), the State of California, the Central Authority of the foreign country, the partner agency (Primary Provider) and Bal Jagat -Children’s World Inc.’s agency’s requirements.
Social workers who complete home studies have a Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW). The Caring Professional Social Workers who work with BJCW Inc. want you to adopt. They offer support, assistance and encouragement at every step of the way. They follow all of the guidelines of the state, the agency, the foreign country, USCIS and partner agency.
Post Placement/Post Adoption Services: All countries require Post Placement/Post Adoption Reports to keep the foreign governments aware of the child’s stability and progress in their new home. Bal Jagat- Children’s World Inc. is able to offer this service to families to complete the last adoption requirement. If families need additional services, Bal Jagat -Children’s World Inc. is able to refer families to support groups, therapy services and other community resources for adoptive families.
Re-Adoption (aka California Adoption): California Readoption is required for all children who come from foreign countries regardless of their Visa Status. BJCW Inc will be able to assist the family in finalizing the adoption in the State of California. We will comply with the requirement of your local court of residence (court process varies depending on the judge) to get the CA birth certificate.
Agency Partnerships: With 37 years of experience in the International Adoption arena, BJCW Inc. has many agency friendships, professional affiliations, and contacts in place. After you become our client, we can utilize our many resources to offer you country program options, that may work for you!
Notary Public on Staff: No need to run around to find a notary for foreign country dossiers and partner agency documentation. Our on-staff notary has experience with foreign country dossiers and will assist you with all of this, for the same standard notary fee.
BJCW Inc in the community: Bal Jagat- Children’s World Inc wants to keep in touch with families on an ongoing basis and we host several social events throughout the year! Please check our social media {Facebook (a profile and a page), Instagram, Twitter and YouTube} for Agency Partnership meetings and networking opportunities with other families.
Bal Jagat-Children’s World Inc. is very active in the adoption community. We attend & participate in adoption conferences, are frequently guest speakers at adoption related events, and hold membership with NCFA [the National Council for Adoption]. BJCW Inc reads and corresponds with many NCFA partner agencies daily via group emails, and attends US State Department teleconferences and partner agency webinars to learn the most updated information on adoption worldwide. As a member, we participate in country caucus webinars and engage with agencies regularly. We participate in CARA conferences in India (CARA is the Central Adoption Resource Authority). BJCW Inc has hosted the Chinese delegation [The China Center of Children’s Welfare & Adoption (CCCWA)], Indian delegations and other partner agencies' and other countries' guests.
In order to provide families with as many adoption opportunities as possible, we have ongoing networking events with partnering agencies. We are active in our local community through the Zaferia Business Association.
Bal Jagat-Children’s World Inc. attends the birthday parties, graduation events, naming ceremonies, baptisms and christening ceremonies, bar mitzvas and bat mitzvahs and now the weddings of our adopted children!
Bal Jagat-Children’s World Inc.’s Humanitarian Assistance worldwide: You can feel proud about the agency you work with. Bal Jagat- Children’s World Inc. opened a Montessori school which accommodated 60 children, in Bucharest, Romania. The Montessori school was initially funded by Bal Jagat, but since adoption closed for several years, it has been paid for by grants, fundraising activities, and by Bal Jagat’s parents who have adopted from Romania. The Government currently runs the facility and the education is free for the special needs local children who qualify based on income and the severity of the special need. The teacher is California trained from the United States.
Bal Jagat-Children’s World Inc. also provides ongoing substantial financial support to orphanages in China and India in the form of donations to the Central Adoption Authorities, which have been used to buy medical equipment for children with special needs and large items for the orphanage (washing machines, etc.). Most recently, BJCW Inc. donated $1000 to the CCCWA in China for this purpose.

You can feel good about the agency you are working with. We have an excellent reputation and have never had any ethical violations. Bal Jagat- Children's World Inc. became fully Hague accredited in 2008, as one of the first batch of agencies to have this Highest Recognition. We have maintained our Hague Accreditation and are in extremely good standing with no penalties or revocations against us. In 2012 we completed out first renewal of The Hague Accreditation through COA. In 2016, we earned our second renewal. We recently renewed again through the new entity IAAME (Intercountry Adoption Accreditation Maintenance Entity) until 2024 (the maximum amount of time). We are able to work with any agency and any country that is processing adoptions, via a contract partnership. Please inquire with us and let us know your circumstances.
