"Adoption is a gift of life." Hemlata Momaya, MSW, Executive Director,
2016 Congressional "Angels in Adoption" Award Recipient
"Congratulations on your anniversary. We will always, always hold deep gratitude to you for our beautiful Sarah, who arrived from Kolkata 26 years ago. With love, Paul and Suzy." (Adoptive parents of a daughter from India.
"I first met Hemlata and Mausami at TiECon in 2012. I had no idea five years later I would come to them for an intercountry (international) adoption. Last week I had my Orientation with both of them, and I walked out feeling very well-informed about the process of adopting a child from India, Pakistan, or Morocco. They spent almost four hours with me! For the value their Orientation fee is extremely reasonable (an attorney's fee would be more than double!). Bal Jagat provides several intercountry adoptions (India, China, African countries, Kyrgyzstan, others). They are Hague accredited, which means if you want to adopt from a Hague-only country, they can still help you. If there is a country you have in mind that they do not directly have a program for, Hemlata is very well connected with other agencies and she can make a new agency partnership for you. For example, I was interested in adopting from India as a possibility and during Orientation, given my preferences to adopt an infant, Hemlata suggested Morocco and answered all of my questions about timeline, costs, and preparation in extensive detail. Bal Jagat's Social Workers (who help you with your home study) have been working with them for over 20 years! Hemlata has been doing this since 1983 and Mausami since the early 2000s. Together, their team is impeccable, which is exactly what I need. Mausami is also a licensed notary public, which is very convenient due to all the notary signatures required during the adoption process. If you are interested in adopting a child of any age from any country, call them first. These two ladies are highly ethical, well respected, and very well known in the adoption community. They are helping people from their hearts and will always guide you in the right direction." Speedy S
"Thank you for helping my parents get me from Romania! Love you guys Bal Jagat" - Jeremy R. (Adopted child from Romania).
"Bal Jagat is outstanding! Hemlata and Mausami Momaya are tireless in all the marvelous work they do for your adoption journey. My Mom adopted my sister from China through them (and loved this agency so very much!), and now I am going through my India adoption with them and couldn't be more grateful for all they do! The love and care they put in to each person's adoption process is truly unparalleled! Whenever I have a question about anything during the process I hear back right away, and they are so patient with all my many questions. They put in such tremendous effort and thoroughness in every detail along the way. I am so very happy to be going through this process in such capable and trustworthy hands." - AC (from Google) Prospective Adoptive Mom for a child from India
"Was so impressed by Mausami Momaya's warm manner and willingness to turn every stone to get my questions answered. What speaks volumes is the fact that I'm living out of her company's jurisdiction but she still went the extra mile to find me a match with an agency. For anyone who is navigating this process knows, it can be frustrating, confusing and overwhelming. Bal Jagat has been in business for 30-some years and they have a trustworthy reputation. I would not hesitate to let them light the way!"- GW
"There is an obvious love for what they do here. It is family-centered: from the agency itself to the pictures of decades of happy adopted children and families. Bal Jagat makes sure that the children are the focus of the adoption journey and that they are well-matched to their forever families. They have been recognized locally and nationally in providing such caring service to both child and parent. They are a compassionate and trustworthy team that families can rely on."- Karen C.
"Our family has been made complete with your help. We are so grateful to Bal Jagat for our wonderful sons, John and Jeremy. Blessings to you all and continued success. Happy Anniversary!" - Coleen R. (Adoptive mother of 2 sons from Romania)
"Congratulations to you on your 27th anniversary. I wish you continued success as your agency continues to create new families & assist children to thrive." Anna P.
"Thank you Bal Jagat. We celebrated S's 12th birthday today!" (Adoptive aunt Kimberly).
"My experience with Bal Jagat Children's World as a single adoptive mother was a very positive one, and I'd highly recommend this agency to prospective adoptive parents. I first learned about Bal Jagat from family friends who had adopted from China and after meeting with Mausami and Hemlata, I knew I was in good hands. This is a small, family-run agency who are Hague-accredited and very experienced in international adoption. They truly care about the families they serve and want the best for both the parents and the children they bring together. They have been established and well respected in the community for many years and have won many awards for their work. They are always very warm and supportive on a personal level in addition to offering highly professional services and expert guidance at every step. They are up front about the challenges of adopting from different countries, and the process to get approved. The fees are clearly explained and any questions are answered promptly, in detail and with patience. They release an informative newsletter regularly and can connect prospective parents with each other - if so desired - for additional support and friendship. In my case, great friendships developed! I never felt I was asking too many questions of Bal Jagat, and felt supported throughout the entire process. Whether it's via phone, email or a meeting at their lovely office, one is always treated with great warmth and respect, and provided with invaluable information. The social worker assigned to complete my home study was also wonderful. She was very professional, thorough with all the requirements and interviews, yet kind and encouraging so I felt we were all working as a team to prepare for a new addition to the family. The translator who was engaged for my China adoption was also very committed and clearly experienced in translating the paperwork as required. The journey towards adoption can be a long one, and there can be unforeseen challenges but Bal Jagat were with me all the way. I am now looking forward to bringing home my baby girl and taking her to Bal Jagat to introduce her to the wonderful people who made it all possible. I urge anyone considering international adoption to arrange an orientation interview for themselves to meet Hemlata and Mausami and to learn more. Thank you Bal Jagat Children's World for your outstanding service! " (Sarah, Single applicant adopted a daughter from China).
